How can I know if my faith is genuine?

Answered in 2 sources

Genuine faith is evidenced by an acknowledgment of Christ and a confession of one's own sinfulness.

Knowing if your faith is genuine can be discerned by examining what is in your heart and the resulting confession of your mouth. In Matthew 12:34, Jesus states, 'For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.' If your heart believes that you are a sinner in need of grace and that Jesus Christ is the Savior, this will come forth in your speech and actions. Additionally, faith manifests itself in a life of dependence on Christ rather than self-effort, showing that your trust rests within His righteousness rather than your own.
