How can I know if the Lord is my shepherd?

Answered in 2 sources

You can know the Lord is your shepherd by genuinely submitting to Him as both Lord and Savior, trusting in His provision and care in your life.

To affirm that the Lord is your shepherd requires sincere submission to Christ as both Savior and Lord. It is not enough to have a mere acknowledgment of His name; you must engage in a living relationship with Him, as depicted in Psalm 23. The question 'Is the Lord your shepherd?' leads to introspection about whether you have truly received Him in faith, surrendering your life to His authority. This relationship assures us of a life free from wants, in which He provides for our physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. As outlined in the sermon, if we genuinely belong to Him and He is recognized in our hearts, we can claim the promises of care and comfort detailed in Psalm 23, knowing we will lack nothing.
