How can one develop genuine humility?

Answered in 1 source

Genuine humility is developed through a right understanding of sin and a vision of God's holiness.

To cultivate genuine humility, one must develop a true understanding of sin and its pervasive nature within us, as articulated in Romans 3:23, which states all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This self-awareness leads to repentance and reliance on God's grace. Additionally, a vision of God's holiness inspires humility; when we see God in His glory, as seen in Isaiah 6, we recognize our unworthiness and are compelled to humble ourselves. Engaging with both the law, which reveals our sinfulness, and the grace of Christ, which offers redemption, is crucial for this development of humility.
