How can our conscience be silenced according to Scripture?

Answered in 1 source

Our conscience is silenced when there is no more basis for guilt, accomplished through Christ.

Scripture teaches that our conscience is silenced when we receive the perfect righteousness of Christ, meaning there is no law to convict us. The sacrifice made by Jesus removes all grounds for condemnation because He fulfills the law and absorbs the punishment for our sins (Romans 8:1). According to Hebrews 10:2, for those who have been cleansed by Christ's sacrifice, there is no longer a conscience of sin, indicating complete forgiveness and acceptance before God. Thus, understanding that we stand justified in Christ quiets the accusations of our conscience, enabling us to live and serve freely in grace.
