How can understanding grace change how Christians view judgment?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding grace allows Christians to view judgment not with fear of condemnation but as an opportunity to reflect their transformed lives in Christ.

The theology of sovereign grace fundamentally alters how Christians perceive judgment. Instead of seeing it as a threat, believers recognize judgment as a reflection of God’s grace in their lives. They understand that Christ has borne their sins, and thus, their appearance before the judgment seat is not to earn salvation but to express gratitude for what has already been accomplished on their behalf. This understanding frees believers from the burden of trying to earn God’s favor through works while simultaneously encouraging them to live lives that demonstrate their transformation and love for Christ. In essence, grace motivates a desire for holiness rather than fear of judgment.
