How can we avoid being conformed to the world?

Answered in 1 source

We avoid being conformed to the world by being transformed through the renewing of our minds by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

Paul's exhortation in Romans 12:2 emphasizes the importance of not being conformed to this world but rather being transformed by the renewing of our minds. This transformation is achieved through the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit and engagement with Scripture. When we deeply immerse ourselves in God’s Word, it renews our understanding and alters our worldview to reflect the values of the Kingdom of God rather than those of the secular world. Being transformed allows believers to discern and prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. By nurturing a relationship with Christ and allowing His truth to shape our thoughts and actions, we can resist the patterns and pressures of worldly ideologies and lifestyles, ensuring that our lives align with Christ’s teachings and example.
