How can we be certain of our identity as God's children?

Answered in 1 source

Our identity as God's children is confirmed through faith and the evidence of love for one another.

Certainty in our identity as children of God arises from both faith in Christ and the transformation observable in our lives. In 1 John 3:14, it states that a defining characteristic of those who have passed from death to life is their love for the brethren. This love is an outward manifestation of God’s work in us, evidencing that we are indeed part of His family. Moreover, our understanding and acceptance of God's love further solidify this identity as we learn to trust in His promises and provision. Ultimately, a heart that seeks after purity and reflects Christ’s love indicates a secure standing as a child of God, assuring us that our adoption is genuine and lasting.
