How can we be justified before God according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

We are justified before God by the blood of Jesus, not by our own works or righteousness.

Justification is a central doctrine in the Reformed faith, affirmed in Romans 5:9 which states we are justified by His blood. This means that our right standing before God is based not on our actions or sincerity, but entirely on the sacrifice of Christ. God's justice demands a penalty for sin, which Christ fulfilled with His blood. Therefore, when we trust in Jesus' atoning work, we are declared righteous in His sight, independent of human effort or merit, which reinforces the core tenet of sovereign grace theology.
