How can we be made clean before God?

Answered in 1 source

We are made clean before God through faith in Jesus Christ, who was our perfect substitute.

The question of how an unclean person can be made clean before a holy God is central to Christian theology. Job poignantly asks, 'Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean?' The answer is found in the righteousness of Jesus Christ, who died as a propitiation for our sins. Romans 3:25-26 explains that it is God's grace that justifies the believer through faith in Christ’s blood. Therefore, it is not through our works but through faith in Christ that we are cleansed and declared righteous. This assurance of being made clean brings peace and restoration in our relationship with God.
