How can we be reconciled to God?

Answered in 1 source

We are reconciled to God through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Reconciliation with God occurs through faith in Jesus Christ, who accomplished what we could not do ourselves. Romans 5:10 states, 'For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.' This passage emphasizes that it is by Christ's sacrificial death that the breach between humanity and God is healed. Believing in His atoning work on the cross, which fulfills God's demand for justice, allows believers to be accepted as children of God (1 John 3:1). Thus, the heart of the gospel is the message of how Christ's death and resurrection provide a pathway to reconciliation, emphasizing grace over human effort.
