How can we be sure Christ has opened our hearts?

Answered in 1 source

We can be sure when we see a transformation in our understanding and a deep love for Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6).

The assurance that Christ has opened our hearts is often manifested in a profound transformation in our understanding and affections. As noted in 2 Corinthians 4:6, 'For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts.' This divine light illuminates our perception of Christ, making Him precious to us. When our hearts are opened, we become sensitive to the things of God, recognizing our sin, desiring holiness, and loving the truths of the Gospel. This experience is a clear indicator of Christ's work in our hearts.
