How can we be sure that God chooses some for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture indicates that God sovereignly chooses individuals for salvation as part of His eternal plan.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:13, the Apostle Paul affirms that God has chosen individuals for salvation through the sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. This reflects the Reformed understanding of unconditional election, where God's choice is not based on foreseen faith or works but solely on His mercy. Additionally, Romans 8:29 states that those who God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, indicating that God’s choice is active and intentional. Understanding election in this way removes any ground for boasting and emphasizes the grace of God in selecting and saving His people according to His purpose, ultimately highlighting His sovereignty in the salvation process.
