How can we be sure we are among the elect?

We can be sure we are among the elect if we wholeheartedly believe that Jesus is the Christ, as mentioned in John 6:68-69.

Assurance of being among the elect is rooted in our faith in Christ. In John 6:68-69, after many turned away, Peter affirmed that there is no other to whom we can go, for Jesus has the words of eternal life. The true evidence of election is faith that acknowledges Christ’s unique role as Savior. If you find yourself believing He is indeed the Son of God and trusting Him for your salvation, it is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit's work in you, thus confirming your inclusion among those whom God has chosen.
