How can we be sure we’re interpreting the Bible correctly?

Answered in 1 source

We interpret the Bible correctly by relying on the Holy Spirit and comparing Scripture with Scripture.

To ensure correct interpretation of the Bible, we must rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance and understanding. Scripture emphasizes that the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14); thus, spiritual insight is necessary. Additionally, comparing Scripture with Scripture is fundamental to sound doctrine, as the Bible does not contradict itself. When seeking to understand profound truths such as the doctrine of the Trinity or salvation, we approach the Word with humility, ready to submit to its authority rather than our preconceived doctrines.
