How can we combat fear according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible encourages believers to trust in God, remember His promises, and pour out their hearts to Him in prayer.

Combating fear begins with belief in God's sovereignty and His promises. We are instructed to 'keep our hearts with all diligence,' as our hearts are the wellspring of our fears and joys. Scripture provides a multitude of promises for believers to hold on to, especially in times of distress. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us to bring our requests to God with thanksgiving, which leads to the peace that guards our hearts. Additionally, Psalms emphasize the importance of calling upon God in our fear, reminding us that He is our refuge and strength. By focusing on God's faithfulness and the assurance of His presence, we can diminish fear and cultivate a sense of peace.
