How can we discern true believers from false ones?

Answered in 1 source

True believers are distinguished by their spiritual power and genuine life in Christ, unlike those with only a form of religion.

Discerning true believers from false ones involves observing the spiritual vitality and authenticity of their faith. True believers will demonstrate the power of God in their lives through obedience, a love for God’s Word, and a commitment to worship and fellowship with other believers. They will also exhibit a transformed heart and life, reflecting genuine repentance and faith in Christ. Conversely, those with only a form of religion may participate in church activities but lack the internal evidence of a living faith. Paul’s admonition is to turn away from those who profess faith without possessing the corresponding spiritual reality, as they can lead others astray.
