How can we discern true peace as Christians?

Answered in 1 source

True peace comes from God through a relationship with Christ, not from our own efforts.

According to Scripture, true peace is a product of reconciliation with God, achieved through Christ’s redemptive work. In Jeremiah 29:11, God speaks of thoughts of peace toward His people, demonstrating that peace is part of His divine plan for those whom He has chosen. The Lord Jesus explicitly states in John 14:27 that His peace is unlike what the world offers. This peace comes from understanding our justification in Christ and being assured of our standing before God. False preachers may promise peace and security without the recognition of the need for repentance and truth, but genuine peace arises when one sees their sin, the sufficiency of Christ, and rests in His completed work. It is accompanied by the assurance of the Word of God and the witnessing of the Holy Spirit.
