How can we encourage ourselves in the Lord during trials?

Answered in 1 source

We encourage ourselves in the Lord by recalling His promises and character.

Encouraging ourselves in the Lord involves remembering His past faithfulness and the promises He has given us in Scripture. As David did in 1 Samuel 30:6, we can focus on the character of God, who is always present in our distress. We reflect on how He provides the grace we need to endure challenges, as Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 12:9, that His grace is sufficient for us. By turning our eyes to God's faithfulness and the eternal hope we have in Christ, we cultivate an attitude of trust and reliance on Him rather than on our circumstances.
