How can we identify a true church?

Answered in 1 source

A true church preaches the gospel and stands as the pillar and ground of the truth.

According to 1 Timothy 3:15, the church is referred to as the 'pillar and ground of the truth.' This means a true church centers its teaching on the Scriptures alone, prioritizing the gospel above all else. It is not merely a social club or religious organization but a gathering where believers are fed with the truth of God's Word. Additionally, when Christ is present among the believers, as He promises, there is a genuine manifestation of His body through love and unity. A true church will consistently point to Christ and His finished work for salvation.
