How can we know God according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

We can know God through His revelation in Scripture and the illuminating work of the Holy Spirit.

Knowing God is not something we can achieve on our own; it is only possible through God's revelation. The Apostle Paul emphasizes that the mysteries of God are known only through the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:10). This means that while we may have an innate awareness of a higher power, true knowledge of God requires His intervention. Through Scripture, God has revealed His attributes, laws, and redemptive plan, allowing us to understand who He is and what He requires of us. The Holy Spirit plays a critical role by illuminating the truths of the Word, guiding us to a deeper understanding and relationship with God. Without this divine revelation, our perception of God would be limited and could lead to idolatry—creating a God in our own image rather than knowing the one true God.
