How can we know if someone is truly saved?

Answered in 1 source

True believers persevere in faith and do not turn away from Christ, as they are kept by God's grace.

The assurance of salvation lies in the perseverance of faith. Hebrews 10:39 states that true believers are those who do not draw back to perdition; instead, they remain steadfast in their faith, believing to the saving of their souls. Genuine faith, given by God, cannot be lost. The conviction that leads one to abandon the gospel is a sign that they were never truly regenerate. God's elect will not commit the sin of apostasy because their belief is rooted in God's sovereignty and the preserving grace that binds them to Christ. This divine assurance is a source of comfort for those who genuinely trust in Him.
