How can we know if we are part of God's elect?

Answered in 2 sources

We can know we are part of God's elect through the evidence of faith and repentance worked by the Holy Spirit in our hearts (Romans 8:30).

To ascertain our status as part of God's elect, we look for the fruits of faith and repentance in our lives. Romans 8:30 reveals that those whom God predestined, He also calls and justifies, leading to glorification. The calling mentioned is an effectual call, awakenings the sinner to realize their sinfulness and need for Christ. This divine calling leads one to trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, making the recognition of one's own sin and the righteousness of Christ as the basis for justification paramount. If we experience a genuine desire for God, repentance from sin, and a reliance on Christ, these are key indicators of being among the elect, highlighting not our own merit but God's merciful and sovereign grace.
