How can we know if we have a heart that is worth keeping?
Answered in 1 source
A heart worth keeping is one that has been transformed by the new birth through the Holy Spirit.
According to Scripture, particularly in Jeremiah 17:9, the natural heart is deceitful and wicked, and thus not worth keeping. However, a heart that is worth keeping is one that has undergone a spiritual transformation, described as being born again. This new birth, as emphasized in John 3, is the work of the Holy Spirit, enabling a person to see the Kingdom of God and resulting in a renewed heart filled with new desires and will aligned to God's purposes. Ezekiel 36:25-26 also affirms this transformation, where God promises to give a new heart and a new spirit, indicating the significant spiritual transformation that occurs in a believer's life.
