How can we know the gospel we believe is true?

Answered in 1 source

We can know our gospel is true by assessing if it aligns with Scripture, gives God glory, and emphasizes the role of Christ.

To determine if the gospel one believes is true, several criteria must be met. First, it should align with the Old Testament Scriptures; Paul emphasized that Christ's death for our sins was according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3). Next, it must provide glory to God alone in the salvation process, as reinforcing any human contribution undermines the grace of God. It should also exalt Jesus Christ in every aspect of salvation. Lastly, a true gospel must reflect the character of God as revealed in Scripture, recognizing His justice and sovereignty. If these elements are present, one can be reassured that their gospel is indeed the gospel of God.
