How can we know we are among the elect?

Answered in 5 sources

We recognize we are among the elect by believing in Christ for salvation and having a transformative spiritual experience.

The assurance of being among the elect is rooted in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the evidences of regeneration in one's life. John 3:15 emphasizes the necessity of believing in Him to avoid perishing. Moreover, true faith produces a change in character and desires, indicating the work of the Holy Spirit within. Since the elect are known by their belief and transformed lives, a Christian can look to their faith and spiritual fruit as assurance of their election. It is vital to remember that the Gospel calls all, and we preach to 'whosoever believes,' affirming God's inclusive call while trusting His selection.
