How can we live righteously if righteousness is not our own?

Answered in 1 source

We live righteously by relying on Christ’s righteousness and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit within us.

Living righteously as believers involves responding to the grace given to us through Christ. While our own righteousness cannot achieve salvation, the Scripture teaches us that once we are justified by faith, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live in accordance with God’s commands. Philippians 3:10 speaks of knowing Him and sharing in His sufferings, indicating that a true relationship with Christ involves a commitment to live out our faith actively. As we grow in our understanding of His grace, we begin to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit and pursue holiness—not as a means to earn salvation but as a response to the gracious gift already received. This transformative process allows us to reflect Christ's character in our daily lives.
