How can we recognize the true message of the gospel?

Answered in 1 source

The true gospel centers solely on the person and work of Jesus Christ as sufficient for salvation.

Paul underscores that any gospel message that dilutes the person of Jesus Christ or adds to His sufficiency is a false gospel. The gospel preached must plainly affirm that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man, who accomplished redemption through His death and resurrection. The essence of true preaching involves pointing to Christ, His authority, and His work alone. As demonstrated in Romans 1, the purpose is to declare the gospel of God, emphasizing Jesus Christ as the sole mediator between God and man. Only messages that glorify and elevate Christ alone can be trusted.
