How can we recognize true love for Christ according to the sermon?

Answered in 1 source

True love for Christ is evidenced by a heart that cannot bear to see Him divided or misrepresented (1 John 4:19).

In the sermon, it is emphasized that true love for Christ cannot be superficial; it must be deeply rooted and interwoven into the believer's life. The woman who truly loved her child preferred its safety over her pride and self-justification, which parallels how a genuine follower of Christ responds to His truths. When Christ is truly loved, believers won't accept a divided Christ, as He is one complete Savior and Redeemer. As noted in 1 Corinthians 16:22, those who do not love Him are seen as accursed. Thus, true love for Christ is demonstrated through a commitment to wholly embrace Him and His teachings without division (John 14:15).
