How can we understand the preciousness of the death of the saints?

Answered in 1 source

The death of the saints is precious in God's sight because it signifies their completion and entry into eternal glory.

Psalm 116:15 states, 'Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.' This reflects God's perspective, which sees death not as an end but as a transition to eternal life with Him. Theologically, this signifies that God values His people’s lives as they fulfill His purpose and ultimately return to Him. Believers’ deaths lead to the cessation of suffering and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan, bringing them into His glorious presence. When a saint dies, they glorify God in their entrance into eternal rest, demonstrating the triumph of grace over sin and death, which echoes the hope of resurrection expounded in 1 Corinthians 15:54.
