How did Christ's humanity enable Him to be our High Priest?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's humanity allowed Him to empathize with our weaknesses and effectively intercede for us as our High Priest.

The role of Christ as High Priest is deeply connected to his humanity. Hebrews 2:17 states it was necessary for Him to be made like His brethren. This likeness allows Him to fully grasp our struggles, experiencing temptation and suffering just as we do, yet without sin. His ability to intercede on our behalf stems from His understanding of our human condition. As a faithful High Priest, He can confidently represent us before God, knowing our needs intimately. Moreover, His sacrificial death provided the basis for our reconciliation, enabling Him to offer Himself as the perfect sacrifice. Such a High Priest ensures that we are not just forgiven but fully embraced in the family of God.
