Genuine faith is evidenced by endurance through trials and a continual reliance on God.
Christians can discern the genuineness of their faith through the trial of their endurance in the face of afflictions. The Apostle Paul illustrates this in 2 Corinthians 13:5, where he urges believers to examine themselves to see whether they are in the faith. Enduring trials and responding in faith illustrates a deep trust in God. As James 1:12 states, 'Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, for once he has been approved he will receive the crown of life that He has promised to those who love him.' Believers can be assured of their faith's authenticity as they see it produce spiritual maturity and persistence in their love for Christ through hardships.
