How do Christians view death in light of the gospel?

Answered in 1 source

Christians view death as a defeat of the final enemy through Christ’s resurrection.

Death, though often depicted as an enemy, is transformed through the gospel into a pathway to eternal communion with God. According to 2 Timothy 1:10, our Savior, Christ Jesus, 'has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.' For believers, death is not the end but rather the beginning of a new life in the presence of the Lord, as seen in John 11:25-26 where Jesus proclaims, 'I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.' This assurance empowers Christians to live fearlessly, knowing that they have the promise of eternal life.
