How do pastors and churches work together?

Answered in 1 source

Pastors and churches are to collaborate in promoting the Gospel, serving God, and caring for one another in Christ.

The relationship between pastors and their churches reflects a vital partnership wherein both parties must work together for the glory of God. As the Lord Jesus walks among the candlesticks, representing the churches, He interacts closely with both pastors and congregants. This partnership ensures that the congregational life is vibrant and scripturally grounded. Furthermore, churches are encouraged to support their pastors, esteeming them very highly in love for their work’s sake, while pastors are tasked with teaching and leading the congregation in holiness and truth (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13). Such collaboration leads to a thriving spiritual community where the light of the Gospel is effectively proclaimed.
