How do trials increase our faith?

Answered in 1 source

Trials increase our faith by exposing our weaknesses and driving us to trust in Christ alone.

Trials serve to refine our faith by not only exposing our weaknesses but also redirecting our focus towards Christ, who is our only source of strength and righteousness. In the sermon, it was pointed out that Abraham's fear revealed his need for faith and trust in God's promises. Each trial is an opportunity to learn that our strength does not come from within ourselves but from the Lord. Romans 5:3-4 teaches that suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope, illustrating how God uses trials as instruments for our spiritual growth and dependence on Him.
