How do trials reveal God's purposes in our lives?

Answered in 1 source

Trials serve as a means for God to demonstrate His strength and to deepen our reliance on Him.

Trials reveal God's purposes by drawing us closer to Him and helping us recognize our dependence on His strength. The scripture assures us that God's testimonies are 'very sure' (Psalm 93:5), indicating that He has a faithful plan for His people even amidst difficult circumstances. God uses trials to expose our weakness, leading us to cry out for His help—just like Peter did when he began to sink amidst the waves. These experiences are designed to bring forth fruit in our lives, ultimately to glorify God and affirm our faith. Rather than seeing trials as punitive or destructive, we can understand them as God's loving means to strengthen our character, increase our faith, and establish our hope in His promises.
