How do troubles affect God's people?

Answered in 1 source

God's people experience troubles, but these trials do not indicate a lack of belonging to Him.

Job 5:7 reminds us that man is born to trouble, which applies to all believers in various degrees. Consequently, experiencing difficulties does not signify abandonment by God. Rather, troubles serve to strengthen faith and refine character, as seen in Hebrews 12:6, which teaches that the Lord disciplines those He loves. God's people can find comfort in knowing that their trials are permitted by God for their ultimate good, even if the reasons are not immediately apparent. The assurance remains that God is sovereign over every trial that His people face.
