How do we attain eternal life according to the Bible?

This underlines the necessity of faith as the means of salvation. The rich young ruler in Matthew 19 sought eternal life through his works, highlighting a common misconception; however, Jesus redirects him to consider the necessity of self-denial and following Him.

The core of this teaching reinforces that attaining eternal life is not about human merit or adherence to the law, as emphasized in Ephesians 2:8-9, which articulates that salvation is by grace through faith, not of works.
