How do we become perfect in speech according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Biblically, perfection in speech is achieved through maturity and the ability to control one's tongue.

As indicated in James 3:2, if one does not offend in speech, that person is considered perfect or mature. The ability to bridle one's tongue reflects true maturity and spiritual growth, resulting in a life that honors God. The mature person speaks with wisdom and intention, using their words to edify rather than to tear down. This resonates with the life of Christ, who exemplified perfect speech and conduct, thus being our model of how to communicate effectively in accordance with God's will.
