How do we come to know the Lord?

Answered in 1 source

We come to know the Lord through the preaching of the gospel and His Word, as He reveals Himself to us.

Coming to know the Lord is an act of divine revelation, not a mere human discovery. In the sermon, it is expressed that knowing the Lord begins when He first knows us, as highlighted in Galatians 4:9. The preaching of the gospel serves as the medium through which God reveals Himself to His people; this includes understanding His character, His love for us, and His saving grace. Isaiah's experience illustrates that it is God who opens our eyes to see Him high and lifted up, as described in Isaiah 6:1. When we respond to His calling, acknowledging our dependence on Christ, we enter into a relationship marked by love and understanding. Thus, knowing God is not about our initiative but about responding to His initiative in our lives.
