How do we grow in our knowledge of God?

Answered in 2 sources

We grow in our knowledge of God through studying His Word, engaging in prayer, and participating in the preaching of the Gospel.

Growth in the knowledge of God is vital for every believer and is cultivated through various means that God has ordained. In 2 Peter 3:18, we are instructed to 'grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.' This growth involves regular engagement with Scripture, where one learns about God’s character, His promises, and His provisions for salvation. Prayer also plays a crucial role, as it fosters a relationship and deepens intimacy with God. Moreover, God has chosen to use preaching as a means to convey His truth and call sinners to Himself. Authentic growth will reflect an increasing understanding of God’s grace and a deepening desire to know Him more fully.
