How do we have assurance of salvation through Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Our assurance of salvation comes from the completed work of Christ, who fulfills the law and grants us righteousness.

Believers' assurance of salvation is rooted in the fact that Christ has fulfilled all the requirements of the law, thus granting us righteousness that we could never achieve on our own. In Colossians 2:13-14, it states that God has forgiven our trespasses and blotted out the record of debt against us, removing it by nailing it to the cross. This means that our standing before God is not based on our adherence to the law but on faith in Christ, who has accomplished everything necessary for our salvation. Therefore, we can rest in the knowledge that the law's demands have been perfectly met in Jesus, providing us with unswerving assurance of our eternal standing before God.
