How do we hear God today according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Today, God speaks to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, as revealed in Scripture.

The book of Hebrews clarifies that while God spoke through prophets in the past, in these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son (Hebrews 1:1-2). This indicates a significant shift in how God communicates His will and truth. The Son, being the exact imprint of God's nature, is the final revelation of God, meaning that understanding God is intimately tied to the person and work of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we hear God today primarily through the written Word of God, with the understanding that any claim to hear from God outside the Scriptures must be measured against what He has clearly revealed in Christ.
