How do we judge ourselves rightly according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

We must judge ourselves based on God's judgment and the truth of Scripture.

To judge ourselves rightly, we turn to God’s Word for His perspective on our nature and condition. The Bible teaches in Jeremiah 17:9 that "the heart is deceitful above all things," reminding us that our self-perception can be misleading. Therefore, it is crucial to agree with God’s judgment of our sinfulness, recognizing that our only hope lies outside of ourselves. When we accept God’s assessment of our need for salvation and the sufficiency of Christ's atoning work, we judge ourselves accurately. This self-assessment should drive us to rely on Christ alone for redemption, ensuring our standing before God is based on His righteousness, not our own.
