How do we keep the unity of the Spirit in the church?

Answered in 1 source

We keep the unity of the Spirit by actively working to maintain peace and showing love and forbearance towards one another.

Ephesians 4:3 calls us to endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. This is not something that occurs passively; it requires conscious effort and commitment from all believers. Each member of the church is tasked with nurturing unity by exercising lowliness, meekness, and patience, as outlined in Ephesians 4:2. This means being willing to forgive and forbear with one another, understanding that we are all sinners saved by grace. Moreover, unity is essential for the health and effectiveness of the church as the body of Christ. Our collective purpose requires us to operate in harmony, reflecting the love of God dwelling within us. Therefore, we must prioritize relationships with one another and seek to resolve conflicts in a manner that honors God.
