How do we know a true minister of God?

Answered in 1 source

A true minister of God preaches the Word, believes God, and focuses on Jesus Christ as the center of his ministry.

In Hebrews 13, believers are encouraged to recognize the true ministers of God by three marks: First, they preach the Word of God, putting emphasis on scripture rather than their own opinions or denominational doctrines. Secondly, a genuine minister believes in God deeply, demonstrating unwavering faith in God's promises and the truth of the gospel. Lastly, the primary focus of their life and ministry is Jesus Christ, consistently directing their congregation to know and follow Him. This consistency in preaching Christ and holding to scriptural truths serves as a safeguard against false prophets and false teachings.
