How do we know assurance of salvation is in Christ alone?

Answered in 1 source

Assurance of salvation is rooted in Christ's completed work, not in our works, as seen in Galatians 5:1-6.

The assurance of salvation stems from the understanding that it is solely based on Christ's righteousness, not our own. Galatians 5:1-6 teaches that if we center our salvation on our works or attempts at righteousness, we lose the freedom and assurance that comes from faith in Christ. Assurance is found in the finished work of Christ on the cross—His life, death, and resurrection assure believers that their sins are forgiven and that they stand righteous before God. The reliance on works for assurance leads to uncertainty and fear, but when believers trust in Christ alone, they experience true peace and assurance of salvation.
