How do we know believers are sanctified by God?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are sanctified by God through His choosing, the work of Christ, and the Holy Spirit's regeneration.

Sanctification is a work attributed to the entire Trinity. The Father sanctifies His elect in eternal election, the Son effects this through His redemptive sacrifice, and the Holy Spirit applies this grace in regeneration. In 1 Corinthians 6:11, Paul affirms that those who have been washed and justified are also sanctified, emphasizing that every believer is declared holy, not by their deeds, but by God's sovereign grace. This root of sanctification highlights that it is wholly God's doing, confirming that there is no such thing as an unsanctified believer.
