How do we know Christ fulfilled the sacrifices of the Old Testament?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is the fulfillment of the Old Testament sacrifices, as His death is the only atonement for sin.

In Hebrews 9 and 10, it is emphasized that the sacrifices of the Old Covenant could never remove sin, as they were mere types pointing to the true sacrifice, Jesus Christ. He is the better sacrifice, the Lamb of God, whose blood atones for all our sins. When Christ declared 'It is finished,' He confirmed that the Old Covenant sacrifices were completed, and He took away the first to establish the second, which centers on grace and faith in Him alone. This understanding assures believers that our sins are fully atoned through Christ's sacrifice.
