How do we know Christ fulfills the role of our high priest?

Answered in 1 source

Christ fulfills the high priestly role by being the perfect mediator who offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.

Jesus Christ is our great High Priest, as outlined in Hebrews, who was chosen and appointed by God to represent His people. Unlike the earthly priests who were flawed and required repeated sacrifices, Christ offered Himself once for all, thus obtaining eternal redemption for us. His high priestly work involves not only atoning for our sins with His blood but also interceding for us before God. The garments and functions of the earthly priests symbolically represented His perfection, righteousness, and sacrificial nature. In Christ, believers find complete acceptance with God, as He assures that we can confidently approach the throne of grace.
