How do we know Christ has defeated Satan?

Answered in 2 sources

Christ has broken the power of Satan, as evidenced in Hebrews 2:14, where it's stated that through His death, He destroyed the one who has the power of death.

The defeat of Satan is assured through Christ's death and resurrection, which is a central theme in the New Testament. In Hebrews 2:14, the writer explains that Christ entered the world, taking on human flesh, to confront Satan, who wields the power of death. By dying, Christ effectively dismantled Satan's claim over humanity, specifically his power to accuse and to bind. Through His sacrifice, believers are assured that their sins are forgiven, making Satan's accusations powerless. The victory is characterized not only by the removal of the power of accusation but also by the liberation of believers from the bondage of sin and death, as seen in passages like Revelation 12, where Satan is ultimately cast out as the accuser.
